Phulkari Wedding Shawl
The Phulkari is said to have originated in the area of Peshawar, Pakistan. The Phulkari extended south and eastward to Lahore, and Multan, India. Some of their motifs suggest Chinese influence, and some are of a floral pattern such as those found on Tibetan Scrolls. Geometric patterns in shades of gold, red, orange, shocking pink, mustard and rust are quite common.
